Download All 493 Pokémon Cries to Your Cellphone

So two years ago I got the idea of assigning different Pokemon cries to contacts in my cellphone. It's a pretty simple concept. Instead of music and melodies my phone sounds like a game boy! Who wouldn't want that? It's always funny when I get a text in mixed company. Nobody expects to hear a Drowzee cry coming from your cellphone. (Drowzee is the cry I assigned to Arsen; it fits his personality.)

I downloaded the Pokemon cries from Legendary Pokémon. You'll have to go there as well. I offered to host a copy of the cries on MY STADY but the webmaster prefers if you downloaded it from them. That site's not going anywhere though so it's all good.

I realize there's a new generation of games–Pokemon Black & White–but I haven't played it yet so I'm not really interested in the cries for that game. At least not yet.

A question I get a lot is how I managed to customize the text message tones on my phone. I use an app called Ringo. It's worked for me when I had a BlackBerry and it still works for me on my new Android phone. My only complaint is I couldn't transfer my BlackBerry license to my Android. But the app works so well I didn't mind paying for it again.

So yeah, let's hear more Pokemon cries in the wild! I'm tired of going to nerd conventions and hearing that Metal Gear Codec you've been using since 1998. That's old people! I remember doing that back in the MIDI days. MIDI! Polyphonic Codec can you imagine? It was tricky but I managed. People, I'm just asking you to step your ringtone game up! You know what else I did? I have the rival battle theme play when my enemy calls. (Okay, Frenemy. Frienemy? How do you spell that?) They know what they did. Stop calling me! But yeah, have fun with it. Using a Pokemon theme on your phone affords you a lot of creativity.

Update: I don't use Ringo to assign tones anymore. Now I use GO SMS Pro. It's a great SMS app in general and its ability to assign tones covers all my needs. I love the Go family of apps. It doesn't hurt that they're all available for free. How do they do it?
