Lucky Star OVA - Lower Your Expectations

I was pumped for some new Lucky Star but after watching this I don't know why they bothered. The TV anime had an awesome send off but to follow that up with this OVA drags the franchise down in my opinion. It wasn’t as funny and it wasn’t as clever. The segments after the MMORPG and before the pet shop are terrible. I'm not trying to dissuade you from watching this, I just think you should lower your expectations.

I think they missed an enormous opportunity with this and a part of me even regrets watching it. It’s only a guess but I imagine this was put into production after seeing the surge in popularity for the show. Nobody counted on this show becoming such a smash hit. I don’t blame them for cashing in but at least stick to the quality writing we’ve come to expect. I’m disappointed.
