No More Content Slider on the Front Page
That's right, I got rid of it! Here are my reasons:
Terrible usability.
Too many JavaScript calls.
Too many graphic elements.
There are better ways of doing this.
Updating the content slider was a manual process.
We never updated it. Ever.
I have a really intimate knowledge of how Blogger works now, and I was thinking I could possibly code a widget with the same functionality. Don't think so? See how some pages have unique descriptions at the top? You might be thinking, 'So what? Just match the URLs in your template.' WRONG! Who wants to open up the template, edit, then upload it every time they need to add a page description? I don't! So you know what I do instead? I use a Link List Widget as a database! I know it's bad form to pat yourself on the back but I'll say it: I’m fucking brilliant!
Right, so that slider's gone now. Do you miss it?
